Information System Modernization and Replatforming issues
In order to meet the expectations of your internal and external customers, your information systems must continue to evolve both functionally and technically. Our information system modernization offer (sometimes called system conversion or system migration) enables you to modernize one or more technical components of your IS:
- Change of OS (Operating System),
- Change of programming language,
- DBMS change,
- Webization or APIsation of applications,
- Replatforming, downsizing,
- Change of development framework,
- Mainframe application migration,
- Cloud migration,
- etc.
So you can offer new and better services to your users, while freeing yourself from an obsolete technical architecture that no longer offers sufficient interoperability with new technologies.
We carry out these projects with a commitment to results, on time and on budget.
Our Information System Modernization and Replatforming services
Our information system and database modernization offer is based on our FAKTORY workbench. This tool ensures system analysis, transformation and validation with a high level of automation.
We set up a new, state-of-the-art technical architecture, enabling you to carry out your new developments and upgrades in a sustainable technical environment.
Our approach enables a smooth transition of your assets and teams to the new architecture. The new architecture is totally native, and requires no “black box” or runtime. This guarantees optimum performance and total independence from third-party software vendors.
Move Solutions Information System modernization approach
Our modernization approach can be summarized as follows.

- It all starts with a mapping and a technical and functional scoring of your applications to objectivize the modernization trajectory. For each application, we define the Trajectory and the Target:
- Modernization or technical enhancement for applications functionally adapted to your needs
- Migration to a software package or new development for functionally outdated applications
- Data archiving for decommissioned applications
- Quick-Wins” can be performed on your Legacy, streamlining technologies and eliminating adherence to obsolete or costly technologies.
- Modernization or enhancement of functionally adapted applications
- Migration to a new application target
- Archiving obsolete applications
Steps 2, 3, 4 and 5 can be carried out sequentially or simultaneously to achieve a rationalized, modernized platform.
6. On the modernized platform, our methods and tools enable productivity gains in daily or exceptional maintenance operations.
How a tool-based transformation project works
A tool-based transformation project follows a proven methodology, enabling converted applications to be delivered with controlled quality, costs and deadlines.
Once the initial mapping (Scan) has been carried out, the study phase defines the technical solution, i.e. the target technical architecture and the transformation guide between the source components and technologies and the target.
The relevance of certain technical choices can be demonstrated through POCs (Proof Of Concept).
The transformation automation tools are parameterized and validated on a PILOT, a representative subset of the source system. The PILOT lot is tested in regression testing.
Once the pilot has been validated, the INDUSTRIALIZATION phase begins, and the remaining assets are transformed and tested by lot.
The INTEGRATION phase enables the various lots to be reconfigured, maintenance deferrals to be taken into account and integrated into the new production run.
The GO LIVE is carried out after a few technical rehearsals to ensure safety.
